I'll be off to Sligo for the very end of the season (8th to 10th October). Where in the North West would be a nice place to hire a boat for the day, and what might the fish take that time of year?

Cant really help on that location, its not one of my stamping grounds . Fly wise i would be looking at a mainly black cast ,butcher ,Kingsmill, connemara black, kate maclaren or a zulu for the top ,with perhaps some dark clarets/feiry browns involved. have a great time ,

To be honest the best of the fishing will be over by then ,I think Lough Conn closes on October 12th and some other loughs close today .There is a new Rainbow trout fishery opened near Foxford and is run by Robert Gillespie the famous flytyer/ghillie it is open all year .
