Welcome to Loch/Lough Style Fly fishing forum;
I have started this forum to serve as a useful place for like minded fly fishers to share knowledge and experiences and to tell fishermans tales . The forum is only in its infancy so please be patient and i'm sure the forum will gain members as the forum becomes better known.
Colin.

Next to salmon fishing drifting boats are my favorite fishing style ,due to location tend to be a resser man but the 11ft with a floater and team of 3 trads is my go to style . Good tohave another place without the politiccs and mud slinging

Greetings.
I do like the odd day in a boat, however prowling the banks of the loch is more my thing.

Hello all. Have just joined and as a recent convert to fly-fishing, am looking to pick the brains and share experience with more experienced members. All of my fishing is done in the hill lochs of Argyll, chasing the feisty little brownies therein. It is galling that the season is fast coming to a close as I am absolutely loving the sport.

Hello Eldrick, Remember, all good things must come to an end. Not many of us on this board. If you are looking for more of a crowd, I can recommend the forums at www.wild-fishing-scotland.co.ukand www.flyforums.co.ukThe first one should be right up your street. The second can be a bit rowdy, but it's generally all good fun. Hopefully, this board will start to take off soon.

Hi Andy, I have ordered the book from Amazon and am awaiting delivery ,by all accounts it is a very good read but i can't comment on it from experience .Another book that might interest you is Irish Mayflies by Patsy Deery and excellent piece of work and some fantastic photos of flies .

Read T&S yesterday ,the chapter there was well written but not very informative . Will await some further reveiws It is nice to see a little action on the this board ,from little acorns and all that . possible it could grow big ,3/4 years ago Hopppys seatrout forum would be 3/5 postins a week and that was in the season ,now fairly busy all year ! Just a quick post to introduce myself.
I mainly fish rivers for seatrout and salmon, with the occasional foray for brownies. In the winter, I have the occasional day on the grayling.
Why have I joined? I was lucky enough recently to be invited to fish (for the first time!) in Ireland. I got to fish Lough Leane and Lough Currane. Having not fished from a boat for over 15 years, the pleasure and enjoyment of bobbing about on the water, just stroking the flies and working that top dropper all came flooding back ;D
I'm looking forward to learning a thing or two and contributing as well.
Cheers for now.

Hi , My intro - Lough Style is my only style of fishing - except for the one day a year when I spend an evening imparting my flies on trees on the banks of a local river . My main lake is Lough Leane (Kerry) - as I live less than a mile from it - and to a lesser extent L.Caragh and L.Currane. Nice to hear that "sewinangler" tried L.Leane. I hoped he had better fishing than me at the end of the season. L.Leane fished very poorly at the end of the season - but was v.good at the start of the season. L.Currane has been poor all year. Some other local lakes fised extremely well towards the end of the season - but the big ones were poor. Regs Gary

Hi All,
Been a member for a few weeks now and decided to take part more in the forum.
Have had a "heads up" on where the forum maybe heading, and it sounds good.
A little bout me....
Fly Fished for 22 years now, 30 this year.......boo hoo....
This is my 3rd year in competition fishing/circuit and did ok last year, made all the major finals.
Enjoy the pleasure of smallwaters too, the more remote the better.....love my piece and quiet LOL
I spend most of my "season" on Stocks, Rutland, Grafham and Pitsford Reservoirs, and most of my other free time spent behind the vice!
Im part of the Masterline Stocks club, and im currently in the successfull B Team.
Also Im 1st reserve for the England Team, hopefully someone will drop out and I will make it to Melvin.
Anyways,
enough about me.......
Looking forward to visiting more
Carl

Hi everyone, just joined. Just rekindled my interest in "fluff & feathers" again after a long 10 year lay off. Trouble being, i lost all my tying materials etc in a house fire a while back, so will have to start again from scratch...... Anyone wanna buy some beachcasters I used to be quite regular on Loch Leven & Fitty at one time & my local water is Raith Lake...... which narrows down my location a tad lol. Maybe i'll have fished alongside some of you guys before, maybe not. Cheers for now
